Philology is a refereed scientific bi-annual journal issued by the Faculty of Al-Alsun, Ain Shams University, and supervised by a number of academics and specialists from various universities worldwide.
Philology was founded by a group of senior professors in the Faculty of Al-Alsun, where the first issue was published in 1983 to achieve the faculty world leadership. This is also attained through publishing refereed scientific research at the local, regional, and international levels.
All research papers are refereed by a committee of specialists with research experience and a distinguished scientific profile.
The journal publishes research papers in the fields of literature, linguistics, and translation provided that they are written in one of the approved languages of the faculty: Arabic, English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Russian, Czech, Chinese, Hebrew, Amharic, Persian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, and Swahili.
Philology is certified by the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities. It is enlisted in the classification of national journals, issued regularly by the Supreme Council of Universities and it received the Impact factor 7 in the classification of July 22.
