Abstract

This paper focuses on some of the common areas and the differences between the conversational routines in Spanish and Arabic. They are discursive units that turned into routines due to its use in communicative repetitive situations. Although they mainly belong to the spoken language, they also appear in the written language that reflects communicative situations, such as the dialogs of literary works. On the other hand, it studies also how these conversational routines are translated from Arabic into Spanish and vice versa using a parallel corpus and which trends of translation prevail, especially regarding the register.
