Abstract

The subject of this study is the linguistic voice, the substitution in the vocabulary, the semantic meaning of the vocabulary in which phonological substitution occurred, the phonological substitution between consonants and vowels, and its semantic effect on the Swahili language various dictionaries of Swahili. Using the analytical descriptive linguistic method. This study answers the question: What is the phonetic substitution in Kiswahili and what is its semantic effect on some Kiswahili vocabulary? The results of the research have found that phonological substitution is a phenomenon in the Swahili language. its has a semantic effect in changing the semantics of vocabulary, the semantic relationships between the words in which the phonological substitution has occurred, the importance of phonological substitution appeared in facilitating the pronunciation of language words and the ability to use it in linguistic dictionaries, in the rhetoric style, and facilitate communication and understanding between the people.
