The prose poem is not a new topic, as it is appeared since the middle of the nineteenth century with Baudelaire masterpieces such as «Flowers of Evil» and «Remains» and others, during the sixteenth century there were other experiences of Michel de Montaigne and François Fenlon. Prose poem position is still between supporters and opponents till now. My intention of this paper is a historical and documentary presentation of the development of the prose poem during the twentieth century between China and Egypt and present the changes that have occurred in a brief way, with an examination of the motives of support for and objection to it. At the end, this paper inquires about the ability of this kind of literature to continue or not? And if there is a possibility of return traditional poetry in the era of postmodernism! These are the topics and themes of this paper, besides the recommendations and the conclusion. The research main themes: Beginning and development. - Supporters and opponents, reasons and motives for that - The possibility of a return to traditional poetry in the postmodern era - Recommendations and conclusion.
