The impact of the new coronavirus on Chinese vocabulary

Abstract

Vocabulary is the most prone to change factor in language. With social progress or the emergence of major events, new words continue to emerge to meet the new communication needs. The generation of a word is not just super imposing the semantics of the constituent words, but based on the cultural background and actual context of the vocabulary used to complete the process of conceptual integration through activation of a series of semantics.
At the end of 2019, a mysterious virus in China, The virus has brought many economic, health, social and even political changes. people's communication certainly cannot avoid this big event, so a large number of new words have appeared in the language to meet people's communication needs on this topic. This article talks about the changes in Chinese language vocabulary brought about by the emergence of the new coronavirus.
