Interdisciplinarity is an accurate manifestation of blurring the lines between different disciplines. When it comes to the discipline of literature, we find that it encompasses an endless list of different fields of study. Journalism is not alien to literature. Literary Journalism is a macrogenre that is constantly evolving, from the chronicles of the Indies up to the present time. The aim of this paper is two-fold: to bring the tradition of Literary Journalism closer to the Latin American literary scene, as a particular experience. The second objective is to analyze a contemporary Peruvian chronicle represented as a reflection of one of the problems suffered by Latin society in general, and the Peruvian society in particular, i.e., the rights of indigenous people. Wars of the Interior (Guerras del Interior) by the Peruvian journalist Joseph Zárate is a journey starring three indigenous people who have become icons of the indigenous struggle.
