In this issue, russian phraseological units, structurally and semantically related to the expression of gender meanings, are analyzed in the linguoculturological manner. There is an asymmetry in the interpretation in the phraseology of the images of man and woman, manifested as in more phraseological units correlated with the image of woman, and in the presence of a negative understanding of the image of woman and a positive image of man. The difference in the evaluation of man and woman, fixed in phraseology, is a reflection of the ancient patriarchal ideas of the russian people and can be assessed as a sign of gender discrimination. When using phraseological units in modern Russian language, negativity towards woman is erased, phraseological units are used in a rethought, imaginative way.
