Abstract

This research aims at identifying the similarity and difference of errors that occur in Arabic language made by both non-Arabic speakers and native Arabic speakers in the linguistic levels (the phonetic, morphological, syntactic, semantic, lexical and spelling).
The research has benefited from the error analysis approach in the description of errors, classifying, and interpreting them, and found that every mistake that befalls the word’s structure is because of adding a linguistic element, or deleting it, or replacing it with another one.
A random sample was selected from the four levels of both native and non-native learners at the faculty of Al Alsun, Ain Shams University.
The research has shown that some of the common mistakes are a common denominator among the Arab people and Arabic language learners who speak other languages.
The research has recommended the necessity of teaching the linguistic systems from an integrated perspective, by which the rule is presented within its phonetic, morphological, syntactic, semantic, and spelling levels, without separating any level from the other.
