Levels of Focusing in the Literature of Distress Edward Said's Memoirs "Out of Place": A Study in Narrative Perspective

Abstract

"Out of Place" is a detailed set of memoirs written by Edward Said after he caught a serious disease. Edward Said, lived 68 years and he remained until his death looking for the relationship of harmony between his Arab self and his American self. This study which tackles the levels of focusing in "Out of Place" revealed the narrator's position in the narrative and his/her relationship with the characters and the events.
