Abstract

In this article we present the results obtained in our research to determine the level of acquisition of  Spanish as a foreign language by Egyptian university students and to analyze the main difficulties that these students face in their oral productions, as well as to verify the influence of the context of learning in the oral expression of the students. To do this, we use an empirical (qualitative and quantitative) method based on the analysis of lexical, morphological, syntactic and morph syntactic errors obtained from oral productions  generated by a group of the first and the second year students belonging to Spanish Department of the University of Aswan (Egypt). After identifying, analyzing and classifying the errors, we find that the students who participated in the research have not reached the desired level of linguistic competence because they made numerous errors at the alalyzed linguistic levels.
