Abstract

The article considers the main syntactic constructions found in Russian business correspondences at the present stage of development of the business correspondence genre. The syntax of Russian business letters has standard elements and new syntactic constructions and features that have appeared in the last two or three decades.
Passive constructions; narrative, non-exclamatory, one-part sentences; complicated in various ways and complex sentences; indirect expression of motivation, and questioning can be attributed to the standard syntactic constructions.
The constructions that form the new syntactic standard include two-part sentences (used instead of one-part sentences), exclamatory and interrogative sentences, sentences directly expressing motivation, and constructions with simplified syntax.
The noted dynamics of the sphere of the syntax of modern Russian business writing are associated with a change in the role of the author of the text and the relationship between the author and the addressee.
