Intentionality is the most important criterion by which textual coherence is achieved because the speaker follows the appropriate speech strategy for his intent, and appropriate to convey the meaning .in this research, I tried to identify the concept of intentionality and the textual relations related to this concept related to the sender, receiver, and discourse.
I tried to use the concepts of intentionality in analyzing the religious text; I analyzed Surat Al-Duha from an intentionality view to determining the effect of intentionality in achieving textual coherence.
I reviewed comments of the scholars of interpretation and rhetoric to link modern concepts and the applications of the commentators, in order not to download the Qur’anic text with unintended concepts and analyses, the importance of this research is due to its attempts to benefit from modern linguistic research methods in analyzing the Qur’anic text.
