Abstract

Comparing linguistic norms and what deviates from them rises the issue of how much systematic a given language is. Studying what deviates from these linguistic norms in Hebrew reveals that they fall into structured sub-categories. This phenomenon is proved in modern linguistics by what are so-called (irregular rules) which are extensions of the regular linguistic rules. An example in Hebrew is the irregular masculine plural suffixes (־ִים) in all nouns ending in feminine singular suffix and the irregular feminine plural suffix (וֺת) with all masculine nouns ending in segol ha.  These examples do not follow the regular plural rule in Hebrew but are still acceptable and fall in a sub–plural pattern. Such instances make it a demand to study the system of how a given language develops to keep up with life developments.צwith all masculine singular suffix and the irregular plural rule is that they fall in structured sub-categories.
