The special use of numbers in social life between Chinese and Arabic

Abstract

The research is a comparison between the special use of numbers in social life in Chinese and Arabic. Since the dawn of history, the ancient man used numbers for arithmetic and counting purposes. Then with the development of social life he explored its secrets and the rich and abundant cultural heritage it carries.
The research summarizes the cultural and religious background of each number separately, and through which we will come to know the numbers people considers lucky and those which are believed to bring bad luck. On the other hand, we will monitor some expressions that include numbers and analyze them where we will conclude the different connotations that each number carries. And with the technological progress and the revolution that occurred in the world of communications, the research deals with how numbers are being used in virtual life through social networking applications and the significance of each number.
