The child's lexicon in his early years: "An applied linguistic study"

The research seeks to study some of words used when dealing with children in their early years such as bah, keh, Ah, Bas…etc. The research seeks to investigate a group of child related words and study them exhaustively using an applied linguistic approach, exploring the different semantic forms that these words underwent in modern colloquial Arabic in general, and in children's language in particular. The study is based on descriptive approach using semantics data .The research is divided into two main parts: The first is theoretical where  the researcher presented some terminology  pertaining and directly related to it .The other part deals with the applicable part; the application of the study is on a group of child's words in his early years and the changes they were subject to in modern colloquial language .Finally, the researcher presented some results obtained in the study, mainly; that many child's words underwent different phenomena pertaining to semantic change.
