This paper study the Spanish translation of Night Shift, one of the most important novels written by the famous author Ibrahim Aslan. It aimes to study the linguistic variation, which refers to regional, social, or contextual differences in the ways that a particular language is used. We count on the model of Hatim y Mason (1995), which is divided into use (field of discourse, mode of discourse and tenor of discourse) and user (geographical dialect, temporal dialect, social dialect, (non)-standard dialect and idiolectal). On the other hand, we will discuss translation strategies used by the translator. We will depend on the model of Marco (2002). Also, we will study some problems which the translator has faced on translating linguistic variation.
