Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze, through an analytical methodology, the paratexts in the current Hispanic very short stories to demonstrate that their use, given the brevity and concision, essential characteristics of this genre, do not only have the function of transmit a pure information, such as the author's name, the date of publication, etc., nor to add some elements that provide the text with aesthetic accessories, but they are considered as the illocutionary force of the message of the text.
