Abstract

The literary themes of lots of modern authors tend to be inspired from the ancient elements of human heritage; for, adopting such themes in their literary works, they create a connection between our modern societies on the one hand, and their universally common intellectual and emotional human history, on the other hand, to highlight human issues of great significance in contemporary times. In this context, the study analyzes the mechanism of investing the character of "Golem" in David Frischmann’s The Golem (1909), the characteristics of style in his mythical adaptation to create mythical ideological structures related to past cultural, social and even political backgrounds. Based on this, scholars can benefit from myth criticism to explore the moral and cultural motives behind the employment of such mythical characters, to understand the ethical or ideological purposes behind their presence in a particular text.
