Abstract

Jean-Paul Sartre (1905-1980) once pointed out: "Every person or thing has a process, from birth to death, but people or things do not have the right to freely choose or refuse this process." However, Gu Cheng held a different view. He chose to end his and his wife's lives on October 8, 1993. He once wrote: "The night gave me black eyes, but I used them to look for light." Gu Cheng's poetry is different from other poets. He created unique works with childlike innocence and dreamy emotions. Although he lived in fantasy, there was a huge distance between his dreams and reality. Perhaps his fantasies and fantasies transcended reality, but he failed to successfully realize these dreams, which eventually led to his suicide.
As a pioneer of Misty Poetry, Gu Cheng was influenced by traditional philosophy and Western philosophy, and all that forming his unique philosophical views.
