Abstract

Childhood memories profoundly shape a writer's awareness and creativity, serving as a vital source of inspiration. Mo Yan and Yusuf Idris drew from their challenging childhoods, portraying rural life, dialects, proverbs, and feelings of isolation. Their experiences of poverty and loneliness significantly influenced their literary themes, offering honest depictions of childhood struggles. Set against the backdrop of rapid societal changes, these memories enabled them to craft sincere and profound literary worlds. Both writers reflected the hardships of their upbringing and rural environments, highlighting the role of adversity in fostering creativity.
