In this work we tried to explore the complex relationship between film production and literary production, using the "film rewriting" of the novel Silk of Alessandro Baricco.
Part of the work has been dedicated to the relationship that the writer establishes with cinematographic communication, both when he is content to be a simple spectator, and when he puts himself first in the role of creative subject. The consequences of this relationship have been sought in the context of Baricco's narrative production in particular in his short novel Silk.
Furthermore we tried to analyze the transposition of the novel Silk, which was introduced only in the context of transversal comparisons and in-depth analysis of individual problems. Through such analysis emphasis was placed on affinities and differences in the transformational process. Starting from the analysis of the novel and then arriving at the film has meant taking on an analytical-descriptive attitude, which explains the reasons and consequences of the adaptation strategy adopted by the director.
