Abstract

In general, students should write a lot to overcome these writing problems. To do this, the teacher has to give a lot of homework that is geared to the learners' specific problems. In the field of orthography, for the Arabic learner, these are mainly exercises that are case-sensitive, but the writing of the vowels must also be practiced. This can be done with placement exercises in which the student must use the vowels in words the teacher has omitted. Dictations are certainly a good solution for practicing spelling.
To improve the syntax, you have to look at the students' individual problems in this area and tailor exercises to them. One possibility is translation exercises, in which the student should translate Arabic sentences that correspond to a very specific, for the learner difficult German sentence structure.
