Onomatopoeia in the Chinese language - a semantic study: Models of Onomatopoeia in Internet Children's Comics

Abstract

Language is a product of societal development and an important means of human communication. Onomatopoeia is one of the common human behavior in different cultures, as it is an important linguistic tool that expresses real sounds related to humans, animals, natural phenomena, and other materials, such as: the sound of air, wind, water, and others.
With the advent of the Internet, onomatopoeia has influenced the Chinese language. Onomatopoeia is one of the most important stylistic means in the creation of semantics, the Chinese language, especially children's cartoons, is rich in many onomatopoeia.
Onomatopoeia is a word or phrase that combines form, sound, and meaning to mimic different sounds in the real world. Onomatopoeia is widespread in Internet Chinese children's cartoons.
The research aims to provide an appendix that includes the semantics of the most important onomatopoeia contained in children's cartoons on the Internet. The study relies on the semantic approach to show the natural relationship between the word and its meaning.
