Abstract

Recently in Russia, the use of idioms has been widespread. This is evident in all the media. The importance of the subject of this research is the difficulty of translating such idioms based on the Russian-Arabic Parisov dictionary, where it became clear to the researcher there are several errors in the translation. This research provides monitoring of these errors their types and provides an analysis of their causes. The research is based on the analysis of the meaning and limits of conventional expression and the development of the reference science in Russia in the current period and its orientations. The research also reviews the types of translation of idioms and the opinions of linguists.

The research concluded that there is a need to review, correct and modify a large number of expressions translated into the dictionary because of errors in their translation that may reach to a complete change of meaning. The research also identified errors in the use of contextual vocabulary, and that the dictionary author often resorted to literal translation, which is incomprehensible. The research also monitored the errors resulting from the abandonment of the dictionary to the rhetorical aspect of the expression and its translation as a word despite of the existence of a synonym in Arabic.
